La Virgen Shirt — Nothing On Her Is Decoration

Her image hangs in the hallway of almost every Mexican house. Most people have never been told what any of it means.

So this shirt does not print her face. It prints the mantle on its own, laid out like a plate from an old devotional book, with each element named: los rayos, las estrellas, la luna, la cinta. Every part of the image was put there on purpose. None of it is ornament.

What is printed

• Back: NOTHING ON HER IS DECORATION — the star-covered mantle inside an ex-voto plaque, four elements labelled, 12 DE DICIEMBRE beneath
• Front: a votive candle and sun rays, with LA VIRGEN

Rendered with restraint, as a devotional object rather than a graphic. Wear it on the twelfth of December and someone will ask.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours. Tumble dry low. Do not iron directly on the print.
