About La Herencia Co
La Herencia Co makes original heritage apparel for Mexican-Americans and anyone who carries that history with them.
What we actually do
We draw every design ourselves. Nothing here is a stock graphic, a traced photograph, or a licensed character. Each shirt is printed to order on heavyweight cotton, then shipped straight to you — there is no warehouse full of unsold stock behind this.
Why the designs look like this
Most heritage apparel is decoration: a flag, a word, a skull. Ours is written to be read.
The Guadalupe shirt labels each element of her mantle — los rayos, las estrellas, la luna, la cinta — because most people grew up with that image in the hallway and were never told what any of it meant. The Día de los Muertos shirt sets a second plate at the table, because that is what families do on the second of November. The First Generation shirt draws a ladder with its lowest rungs missing, and two hands nailing a new one into place.
The point is that when somebody asks what your shirt means, you have a real answer.
How we handle the culture
We research what we print. We check dates, names and symbols before they go on a garment, and we do not put sacred imagery on a product carelessly. We do not claim to speak for any community, church or institution — we are not a spokesperson, we are a shop that tries to get it right.
If we get something wrong, tell us at cs@laherenciaco.com. We will correct it or pull the design.
